Dvi D To Hdmi Adapter Not Working

The monitor does not detect any signal when i use my dual link dvi d to hdmi 1 4 cable any more since installing windows 10.

Yeah i already have audio from the ps3 via rca cables and speakers connected direct to the pc so thats not an issue. A quick google does yield results for a vga to hdmi cable but it won t work as vga is analogue and hdmi is purely digital.
